Kids Room Dividers

There are many uses for a kids room divider. There are single panel and multipanel kids room dividers. Single panel kids dividers are used mainly for educational purposes and make a perfect activity center for the kids since they come with interesting features like bookshelves, whiteboards, art easels or chalkboards. This helps to kindle the imagination of a child and help them to write, draw or paint on the divider. There are many educational kids dividers like tri-panel room dividers with write-n-Wipe dry erase surface, read and write room divider which combines a writing area with book storage, see-through easel room divider with paint caddies, 3 way maxi mirror divider and much more.

The next type which is folding multi-panel kids dividers can help in dividing a large kids bedroom into two portions to clearly define a playing and sleeping area. They can also help to add privacy when the bedroom is shared by two or more kids. Organizing a kid’s bedroom also becomes easier with a room divider as it provides storage areas. When a kids room divider is kept against a wall, the area between the divider and the wall could also be used for storing toys and other kids stuff.

Finally, these kids room dividers can also be used just for decoration and to brighten up the kids bedroom with their lively colors and with the kids’ own artwork. Dividers with colorful dinosaur artwork and mirrors would keep little kids engaged in playing for a long time.

Kids Decals Make Learning Fun

First on the list of helpful kids decals, are chalkboard stickers. If you haven’t heard of these, you’re missing out! These are one of the newest inventions when it comes to wall decor. Instead of having bulky chalkboards, you can now buy chalkboard decals! These decals are made of strong but thin, flexible vinyl. They’re reusable and removable and stick to any clean, smooth surface. So your imagination is truly the limit. They aren’t just stickers for walls either! You can apply them to refrigerators to help you and your kids keep track of schedules and appointments through the busy school year. You can stick them to the top of your pre-schooler’s desk to encourage their practice of penmanship. Your tween or teen may find them helpful to apply to their lockers at school.

Chalkboard stickers come in all shapes and sizes. You can purchase chalkboard panels and put them in separate places or position them all together to form one gigantic chalkboard! There are fun shapes, like animals, buses and circles for preschoolers and for tweens there are guitars and fancy designs! What kid, no matter how old they are, wouldn’t think it’s super cool to write on the walls?

If you’d prefer to avoid the “mess” of chalk dust, then the dry erase panels and sheets would be perfect for you! Again, like the chalkboard stickers, these dry erase boards are made of that same wonderfully flexible but durable material. They are, as well, removable and repositionable and come in all different shapes and sizes too. Both the chalkboards and whiteboards are easily cleaned with a damp cloth. You can use regular chalk or dry erase markers on them, no special writing tools are needed.

Here’s a fun fact to tuck away in your brain for both the chalkboard and whiteboard kids decals. You can cut any of these products to whatever object you desire! Say you’re putting up a chalkboard decal in your son’s room that’s decorated in cars and trucks and anything with engines and wheels. Using a pencil or pen, you can trace an image of a car or truck onto the backing of the decal (before you peel it off the decal). Then carefully cut out the shape, peel it off the silicone backing, stick it to the wall, dresser, door, wherever and enjoy!

New designs and products are coming out all the time. One of these super cool items are the Dry Erase Photo frames. These are not as organizational in nature… but still very cool for the teen going off to college or for your tween that’s looking to pimp out their locker at school! Dry Erase Photo Frames kids decals are sold in a pack of three and include “tacks” and “tape” kids decals. Simply frame your friends and fav places with these special frames. Then write a funny caption or title for each image.

A great benefit to both the chalkboard and whiteboard kids decals is that they’re very economical and earth friendly. If you’re family is anything like mine, we go through a LOT of paper. Whether it’s making “To-Do” lists or the kids doodling their hearts out, we are certainly not saving any trees in our house with all the paper we use. By strategically placing these decals around the house, families could seriously cut back on the amount of paper that they go through. As well, my son, who is four, loves to practice his letters. By placing a fun chalkboard decal in his play area, I can still encourage this activity but be friendly to our earth as well!

The last group of kids decals that make learning fun are the many different styles of number and alphabet wall stickers! Because these kids decals are removable and reusable, your toddler and pre-schooler can use these fun and colorful to learn their ABC’s and 123’s. They can peel off the objects and match them to the letter they start with. Like move the elephant beside the “E” and so on. This is fun, interactive and a great way to encourage learning and stimulate their imagination. You can use them to teach colors and positions as well. “Which letter is Red?” or “Which object is Bigger?” or “Which object is Below the letter?”. You get the idea. The ways you can use these cute kids decals is vast.

Fire Safety Education

1. Escape Routes

Whether in home or at school, children should know about escape routes. Older children who are mature enough to understand directions should be taught about the nearest fire exits located in the premises where they are usually at. It is also a must that they know the correct ways on how to escape. This can be done through a regular fire drill practice. Teach them to touch a door knob first before opening it so they know if there is fire on the other side. Have them practice crawling during the fire drill as poisonous smoke tends to rise above the air during fire.

2. Fire Safety Equipment

Kids should also know about the basic fire safety equipment including fire extinguishers, smoke alarms, fire ladders, fire hoses, fire blankets, and so on. They do not necessarily have to learn how to use each one of these but it is important for them to know what each one is for. For example, they need to know that smoke alarms give off a loud warning sound to indicate a fire accident. When kids hear this sound, they would know about the fire and they can respond to it the way they have been taught to do so. While children should not be taught to fight fire using fire equipment, they can be taught to use fire blankets to cover themselves while escaping the burning premises.

3. Preventive Measures

The phrase, “do not play with matches” has become a clich√© BUT this does not in any way diminish its importance. Kids should be made to realise that playing with matches or any other dangerous item that is flammable or combustible can lead to serious dangers. Tell them the possible consequences of their actions so that they will not attempt to do these things out of curiosity.

Keeping Kids Safe

There are many factors when it comes to keeping kids safe and all others can be left to the other experts. In my case I want to do everything to educate kids into never smoking. I want to teach kids what a black lung looks like. I want children to see what cancer does to the person suffering and the people around them.

Why do we even care about worrying about social studies in school but yet we do very little to educate our children when it comes to smoking. I guess for the most part all the responsibility needs to lie in our laps. As a parent it is our responsibility to fight against our kids smoking.

The tobacco companies would never admit to anything but anyone with common sense knows and realizes that tobacco companies very heavily rely on new smokers starting up to maintain billions of dollars in profits. Of course we cant win single handily against the tobacco companies but as a team and each and every one of us focus on taking care of the people around us then we can actually win this war.

We have to understand the importance of keeping kids safe in all circumstances. We do everything in our power and we would die for our kids but then we see kids on a daily basis with cigarettes hanging out of their mouths. Why do we not take smoking as seriously as the stalker on the internet trying to date your 15 year old daughter.

Bottom line is smoking kills and if you dont already know this you have been buried at the bottom of an ocean for a very long time. There are no more excuses life is about keeping kids safe.
